Here's How To Save Money On Gas | Every Time You Have To Fill Up

To tell you the truth, I didn’t used to be overly concerned with the price of gas growing up, but in my day to day life now it seems that I’m always looking for some way to save. Especially with the recent changes in my lifestyle, I find myself driving some long miles throughout the week. That being said, I obviously find myself at a gas pump once, maybe twice a week. Between that, and always feeling the need to grab a bite to eat on the way to work, the Upside app has been quite an effective answer to softening the blow and really giving an answer for how to save on gas purchases.

How does Upside work?

Now, this isn’t the app that’s going to make you filthy rich. But it does very much take the piggy-bank approach to saving a few dollars up for you. See, Upside is a cash-back app. These services get paid by sending you to specific products or stores, in exchange for a kickback that, in this case, is split with the end user. Another marketing expense for these gas stations, which becomes money in your pocket. In other words, everybody wins.

How do I use the app?

It’s a simple process to reap the benefits of this app. Upside will map out the different offers near you as you prepare for your commute. Many times you will see offers for around $0.10, sometimes up to $0.40 off per gallon during limited specials. You also aren’t limited to just gas. Many restaurants exist in the upside network, commonly offering 20%-40% off your total purchase. From there, you just choose the deal that works best for you, upload your receipt to the platform, and get paid.

Upside makes it easy to save on those regular daily purchases that were going to be made whether you had the app or not. I’ll be the first to admit that I eat out a lot more than I should. When it comes down to it, I at least feel better knowing that, most times, I’m getting a dollar or two back when I swipe my card. Especially if I’m already getting cashback with a creditor or some kind of bank offer.

Does it actually work?

Here are some real examples of credits from the upside app from my personal transaction history.

As you can see, there are many places that present you an opportunity to save money as you shop with them. Not only that, but from time to time, Upside will present an additional offer for extra savings when you complete a certain amount of transactions through the platform.

Will this work for me?

If you’re somebody living the fast life, and constantly on the go, the Upside app could easily equal anywhere from an extra $50 or $100 back in your pocket every month. With the constant rise of the cost of goods, the average American needs any break they can get until things lighten up at least a little bit. Even if you’re comfortable with your current spending, it never hurts to check and see if you’re already spending money in places that Upside would pay you to shop at.

Where do I start?

If you want to get started saving money on gas every time you have to fill up, you can click this link or download the Upside app from the Google Play or Apple App Store. When you sign up, enter the code LOUIS9354 to let them know who sent you. That code will also give you an EXTRA $0.15 per gallon on your first purchase through the platform.
